It’s so cold here I half expect the trees to explode.

Back in Michigan, I’ve hit full polar vortex whiplash. It’s minus 12 degrees this morning—and that’s not even the worst. My sister up in Roscommon reports minus 24, and the Au Sable River is starting to freeze over. Yeah. This is serious cold.

So what do I do? Pull the curtains, cue the music, and dive into rewriting the chapters of Love Bites, the first book in the Pink Matchmakers series. Switching back to my preferred voice—first person, present tense—is like unlocking a pantry full of chocolate. Diana is happy. Luca is happy. The team at Pink Matchmaking is happy. Even the entire little Hallmark town of Pinkerton Falls is falling into place beautifully.

15,000 words later, I’m on Chapter 9 of the rewrite. Everything just works when I’m writing in a voice I know and trust.

Diana is a blast to write. I first met her in Marigold Dream, the wild younger sister of James Knox—a chaos-bringer to his ultra-ordered life. From the moment she appeared on the page, I loved her energy. Now she gets her own story.

Well… her own series. Diana and her friends left their creative jobs in Florida, pooled their resources, and pitched a deal to Zing AI to become the go-to app for next-level matchmaking.

What excites me about this series is the freedom to explore small-town romance alongside all my favorite tropes: slow burn, love at first sight, he falls first, enemies-to-lovers, no cheating—ever—and plenty of space for “love is love” stories.

Pink Matchmakers is pure fun to write, and I hope it’s just as fun to read. Happily Ever Afters? Absolutely guaranteed.
